<p>PURPOSE:To improve desulphurization rate by oxidizing slurry having absorbed SOX with air in an oxidation tower to convert CaSO3 to CaSO4, removing gaseous CO2 mixed in the slurry, and returning a part of the slurry to the absorption tower. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas is allowed to contact with slurry in an absorption tower 2 and SOX in the waste gas is absorbed and removed. The concn. of CaSO3 in the slurry 3 is increased by the circulation of the slurry 3, and pH of the slurry 3 is reduced by the mixing of gaseous CO2 in the waste gas, thus, rate of desulphurization is reduced. The slurry 3 is sent to an oxidation tower 6 through a transporting pipe 15, where air is blown by an air compressor 16 to oxidize CaSO3, and gaseous CO2 in the slurry is expelled simultaneously. A part of the oxidized slurry is returned to the absorption tower 2 through a return pipe 18; the rest is sent to a thickener feed tank through a pipe 19. The air used for the oxidation is returned to a waste gas duct 1 from the top of the oxidation tower 6 through a duct 21.</p> |
