PURPOSE:To discriminate various kinds of trays, not electrically but mechanically, to enhance the reliability of the discrimination, by forming more than one identification grooves in the lateral peripheral surface of a disc-like base plate having its top surface from which a spool standing peg projects. CONSTITUTION:An identification groove 6 is circumferentially formed in the lateral surface 5 of a tray 1. This groove 6 is selectively positioned so that the distance of the groove 6 from the top surface 3 of the tray 1 is made various in accordance with various kinds of trays. A conveying device 10 comprises a belt conveyor 12 disposed in trough-like support member 11, conveyor pathes which are formed at intervals L on the conveyor 12 together with guide plates 14. The tray 1 having peg 2 whose base 7 projects from a guide path 13, travels. Sorting devices 20 are provided along one side of the guide path. A tray 1a having a distance R1 from its top surface to its identification groove 6 which is equal to the distance R1 between the lower surface of a reference plate 28 and a selecting plate 25, is alone allowed to pass through the sorting device 10 without it being turned to a different direction. |
