PURPOSE:The core substances are suspended in a solution of a macromolecular polymer, which is metabolizable in vivo, in a solvent, then another solvent which is incompatible to both substances but compatible to the solvent is added to form microcapsules which can be suitably used in chemotherapy for carotic thrombosis. CONSTITUTION:The core substance is suspended in a solution of a macromolecular substance, which is metabolizable in vivo such as polylactic acid, polyaminoacid or albumen, in a solvent and another solvent which is incompatible to both substances, but compatible to the solvent is added to the solution to effect phase separation to encapsule the core substance. As the solvent A, is mentioned halogenated hydrocarbons, ethyl acetate and the solvent B is suitably a lower alkane which is liquid at room temperature. Preferably, a part of solvent B is added to the solution of the macromolecular substance in the solvent A to such a level as the macromolecular substance is reached the critical point of phase separation, then the core substance is dispersed and the solvent B is added dropwise at a constant rate to effect complete phase separation. |
