摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a thrust for a carrier by using magnetic field generated by a solenoid coil disposed on the periphery of a track of a document transport device and electromagnetic force of a permanent magnet mounted on a carrier as a thrust for the carrier, and exciting the solenoid coil to apply a thrust to the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A track-side propulsion device 1 comprises a solenoid coil 2, a tubular frame 3, a carrier guide 4, a sensor 5 and a support device 6 for supporting a carrier guide and a track. When a carrier 7 is moved by force, the polarity of the excited solenoid coils 2-1, 2-2 to the polarity of a permanent magnet 8 is controlled to be a thrust for the carrier 7. When the carrier 7 is moved by inertial, the solenoid coil 2 is released by a switching circuit so that an induced current is not generated by the permanent magnet 8. In case of braking the carrier 7, the solenoid coil 2 is short-circuited by the switching circuit to apply solenoid brake to the permanent magnet 8.</p>
