PURPOSE:To minimize soft jaw machining, by storing those of data on a work, a soft jaw and a core bar. CONSTITUTION:In time of continuous machining for a wide variety of works by a machine tool 1, a lot of soft jaws 6 and core bars 17 for jaw machining use are provided for that and those of work, soft jaw and core bar data are stored in a memory, while each time a type of works to be machined, as machining these works in small diametral order, is changed, the propriety of change in the soft jaw is judged on the basis of the stored data, and shift pitch numbers of the soft jaw 6 and a diameter of the core bar 17 required for machining the soft jaw 6 are calculated, and according to the result, change and shift of the soft jaw 6 are performed, then soft jaw machining takes place. Thus, automation in the continuous machining of a wide variety of works is well promoted. |
