PURPOSE:To contrive to print in a uniform printed density, by a method wherein the number of printing elements operated to generate heat is counted by referring to a table for each received data code, and the heating value of the elements is controlled in accordance with the counted value. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with a command issued from a host computer 21, a CPU22 refers to a pattern corresponding to the received data code in a RAM 26 in a table incorporated therein, and a counter incorporated in the CPU22 counts the number of the heating elements DT1, DT2,... operated to generate heat after the start of printing. The width of a heating pulse for each heating cycle is determined by the CPU22 in accordance with the counted value, and the heating value of the corresponding elements DT1, DT2,... is controlled through a driver 23, whereby it can be contrived to print in a uniform printed density. |
