The large boiler is brown coal etc. fired and has a vertical combustion chamber with connected horizontal flue. The combustion chamber is surrounded, at least at the transition point to the horizontal flue, by orthogonal, welded tubes. The tuges of the combustion chamber rear wall led through the horizontal flue, forming a flue gas passage. The cross-sectional height of this passage is reduced in the middle portion of the horizontal flue by providing the tube welds in this middle portion at a point located further upwards. Preferably the transition forms the lower boundary of the flue gas passage, being of strip shape between the welded and non-welded tubes. |
