PICTURE IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify an operation of a picture image forming device such as a copying machine and thereby prevent an erroneous operation from being produced by automatically detecting a state of demounting of a large capacity feeder as an additional device by a feeder detection switch. CONSTITUTION:A lower cassette 3 and a upper cassette 4 including a demountable tray and sheets of copying paper different in sizes housed therein are attached on a body of a copying machine 1. A large capacity feeder 23 constructing a picture image forming device combined with the copying machine 1 is alternately mounted on a mounting part of the lower cassette 3. A size detecting switch 26 is disposed on an end of the frame 25. A device part 23a having the same height and width as those of the lower cassette 3 is provided projecting from a front end part of the feeder on the large capacity feeder 23, and adapted to correspond to a lower feeding-out roller 16 likewise as the lower cassette 3 in its mounted state. A feeder detecting switch is provided on the cassette frame 25 and adapted to operate only when the large capacity feeder 23 is mounted.
