PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a transfer unit to reduce failures in the transfer unit for supplying recording papers to a recording section by reversing one of transfer means for a predetermined time when the recording paper reaches a squeezing section between a pair of transfer means. CONSTITUTION:When a recording paper 2 is supplied to an ink jet printer, the recording paper 2 in a paper supply cassette 1 is guided by guide plates 4, 5 while reaching a squeezing transfer section having a platen roller 6 and a lower roller 7. After the recording paper reaches there, a paper supply roller 3 also continues to rotate for perposely bending the recording paper 2 so that the recording paper 2 is prevented from being inserted slantly in the squeezing transfer section between the rollers 6, 7. That is, when the recording paper 2 abuts slantly against the transfer section between the rollers 6, 7, the roller 6 is reversed, and when a reverse force is applied to a portion of the recording paper 2 transferred slantly to be sandwhiched by squeezing transfer section, the edge line of the end of the recoding paper 2 becomes parallel to the roller 6. Thereafter, the recording paper 2 is maintained as it is while recorded by a recording head 10 and discharged outside the machine. |
