<p>A method of, and apparatus for, fabricating a textured yarn or the like comprising a false twist device containing a number of friction disks arranged in spaced coaxial relationship with respect to one another in succession and thread guide elements helically distributed along the circumference of the false twist device. The thread guide elements extend into the space between the disks and are helically arranged along the circumference of the false twist device in such a manner that a yarn contacting the disks and guided by the thread guide elements contacts the false twist device along a helix, the helix angle or pitch of which decreases in the direction of travel of the yarn.</p> |
