PURPOSE:To make it possible to pile up sheet-like materials without the materials being harmed, by making the upper transfer section of a belt conveyor extendable and retractable so that the sheet-like material transfer section is extended, and as well by pulling back the front section under the stop condition of the belt conveyor upon loading. CONSTITUTION:When a fixed length material A to be pipled up is shifted onto a loading conveyor 41 from a transfer conveyor 31, air pressure for a cylinder 52 is reduced, simultaneously, and a loading head drive electro-magnetic clutch is turned on while leaving a belt 47 its travelling condition. Therefore, a loading roll 43 is extended to a position remote from the front end at a speed equal to or higher than that of the belt 47 so that the upper transfer section 47a of the belt 47 is extended to a longer length to feed a fixed length material A' forward. When a fixed length material A' on the belt 47 reaches a position right above a loading guide 73, the belt 47 comes to a stop at once, and the loading roll 43 is returned rearward. |
