<p>A hose end fitting for use with a hose having a reinforcement affording resistance to collapse under vacuum, includes a sandwich of at least one layer of high-compression-modulus of textile reinforcement, an elastomeric layer bonded thereto, and at least one further high-compression-modulus layer of yarn or farric bonded to the other face of the elastomeric layer. The fitting comprising: a ring of generally wedge-shaped radial cross-section with its narrow edge directed axially towards the other end of the hose and positioned in the elastomer layer between the layers of high-compression modulus textile reinforcement, the outer surface of the hose being flared outwardly; a flange contg. a tapered opening to engage and mate with the flared end of the hose to provide means to attach the hose end to another element.</p> |
