The draught improving unit for a chimney flue or a ventilation duct comprises vertically spaced annular deflectors (1-3) with coaxial openings (13) and a spigot (6) at its lower end to secure the unit on the upper end of the flue or duct. - A disc (5; 15,17) with a dia. greater than that of the opening (13) in the deflector (2) below it is arranged co-axially between two adjacent deflectors (2,3) and provides an annular outlet (14) for the flue gas between itself and the deflector (3) above it. At least part (15) of this disc is releasably secured such that by its removal, a through-passage (16) is available for cleaning purposes. The upper deflector (3) can be laterally swivelable to provide better access.
