<p>5-(Benzylidene or hydroxybenzyl) 4,5-dihydro- 6-methyl-pyridazin-3(2H)-one derivs. (I) are new. (where R1 is H, F, Cl, NO2 or OCH3; R2 is H, Cl, NO2, CF3 or OCH3; R3 is H, F, Cl, CH3, NO2, OCH3 or OH; R4 is H or OCH3; R5 is H or Cl; or R2 and R3 together can represent an -O-CH2-O- group; and R6 is -CH: or -CHOH-; provided that R1-R5 are not all H). - Many of the cpds. have antihypertensive, analgesic, antiinflammatory and/or CNS activity. More than half also have herbicidal activity. Mainly, however, the cpds. combine weak neuroleptic activity with a strong Vasodilatory action of the femoral artery, accompanied by only slight cardiac stimulant and blood pressure effects.
