<p>5-Methoxy 2-(((4-methoxy 3,5-dimethyl 2-pyridyl) methyl) sulphinyl benzimidazole is made by (a) reacting 2-chloro 3,5-dimethyl 4-methoxy pyridine with the Li, Na or K salt of 5-methoxy 2-(methyl sulphinyl)benzimidazole in an inert organic solvent such as diethyl ether, tetrahydro furane or other at 60-80 deg.C. To obtain 5-methoxy 2-(((4-methoxy 3,5-dimethyl 2-pyridyl) methyl) sulphinyl benzimidazole; (b) isolating by conventional methods; and (c) recrystallising in organic solvent such as isopropanol, acetonitrile or other to obtain the chemically-pure prod.</p> |
