The fuel-injector for an ic-engine has a main compression spring in a housing bore acting between a needle valve at the bottom and an axially-adjustable component at the top. The bore contains an auxiliary spring (16) in line with the main one (15), while the component (17) extends along the auxiliary spring and has supporting faces for its top end. The needle valve (4) extends upwards as far as the auxiliary spring, having faces in contact with its bottom end.
