PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a radiator as compared with that of a conventional radiator equipped with fins by a structure wherein a large number of metal tubes communicating between an inlet side tank and an outlet side tank are disposed in rows and at the same time a radiating part composed of open cell porous metal is fixed onto the outer periphery of each metal tube. CONSTITUTION:A large number of tubes 13... made of metal with good thermal conductivity are disposed in rows between an upper tank 11 and a lower tank 12. The metal tube 13 has comparatively thin wall thickness and true circular or nearly circular form in section. A cylindrical radiating part 14 composed of open cell porous metal is fixed onto the outer periphery of each tube 13. Because the radiating part 14 sufficiently functions as a substitute of conventional fins due to its remarkably high porosity and, at the same time, the heat transfer is improved because of the air passing through said radiating parts being turned into turbulent flow, the favorable radiating performance can be ensured. In addition, the working of the radiating part is also easy. |
