PURPOSE:To improve durability by proviging two adsorbed and oriented layers consisting of dichromatic materials in the thickness direction of a stretched hydrophilic high polymer film. CONSTITUTION:PVA or the like is used as a hydrophilic high polymer film and dichromatic materials having the same or different hues are adsorbed and oriented stepwise on said film from the inside to the surface layer part of the film. The polarizing film having the layer adborbed and oritented with at least two dichromatic materials in the thickness direction of the stretched hydrophil- ic high polymer film is thus obtd. The adsorption and orientation of the dichromatic materials to the film may be accomplished by stretching preliminarily the film or stretching the same after dyeing the film. The film is preferably stretched at the draw ratio of 3-5 times in either case. |
