PURPOSE:To attain the recording and reproducing of a data in addition to that of PCM (pulse code modulation) by converting a stereo signal into digital data, preparing another digital data and switching respective data to record and reproduce the data selectively. CONSTITUTION:Stereo signals are supplied to input terminals 1L, 1R and converted into digital signals by A/D converters 4L, 4R. LCH data are stored in memories 4LU, 4LL. The information is modulated by modulation circuits 13- 16 through error detection correction code adding circuits 9-12 and the modulated signals are recorded and reproduced through a switching circuit 17 and rotary heads 21A, 21B. On the other hand, data signals 231-234 are modulated by the modulation circuits 13-16 through the contacts of switches 5-8 and then recorded and reproduced through the switching circuit 17. Consequently, 16-bit and 2-channel PCM recording/reproducing is made posible and 8-bit digital data can be also recorded and reproduced optionally, so that the titled recording and reproducing device can be provided with a data recorder function in additon to a PCM recorder function and the use-generality of the device is expanded. |
