<p>Sugar isothiocyanates of formula R-NCS, in which R can be various radicals, for use as intermediates, are made by reaction of a sugar deriv. of formula RX, in which X is a labile gp., with an alkali metal thiocyanate, in presence of a phase transference catalyst.
