PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a precise connector by forming plastics, which are provided with a guide face which guides the strand of an optical fiber and a minute hole, into one body on the inside of a metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:After a metallic pipe 10 to which a core pin 16 is inserted is press-fitted into a hole 14 provided in a lower die 13, an upper die 17 fitted. A front end part 16a of the core pin 16 is fitted to a hole 19 of the die 17 and is positioned accurately. Plastic materials 23 are charged from a nozzle 20 of the upper die 17 and are hardened. After hardening, the die 17 is removed, and a sleeve 15 is projected upward, and a ferrule joined into one body is removed out of the die 13. An unnecessary runner part 24 is cut and removed, and end faces are polished. Thus, manufacturing of the minute hole is made unnecessary, and the ferrule is formed only with manufacturing of the metallic pipe 10, and the productivity is improved and the cost is reduced thereby. |
