PURPOSE:To obtain a line measure having an excellent temp. characteristic by forming a scale tape of a specific material, exerting tension to said tape in the longitudinal direction thereof and packaging the tape in an outside frame formed of aluminum. CONSTITUTION:A scale tape 1 is formed of ''New Superimvar'' (63% Fe, 32% Ni, 5% Co, coefft. of linear expansion = -0.1X10<-6>/ deg.C) having a small and negative coefft. of linear expansion and is graduated with a scale 5. The bottom end of the tape 1 is fixed to the bottom cap 3 of an outside frame 2 formed of aluminum and the tape is packaged into said frame by exerting 10-20kg tension via a spring 8 thereto. The line measure having an excellent temp. characteristic is thus obtd. |
