PURPOSE:To enable to smooth an AC power source in high power factor by forming the input current from an AC power source in a rectangular waveform interrupted by ON and OFF of a transistor. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 1 is rectified by a full-wave rectifier 2 to becomes a pulsating voltage. This pulsating voltage is conducted through a transistor 5, thereby charging the capacitor 3. When the charging voltage becomes the pulsating voltage or higher, the collector current of the transistor 5 is stopped, an energy stored in a choke 6 is discharged through a diode 7 to the capacitor 3. The current stored in the capacitor 3 is flowed to a load 8, and the voltage stabilized at the capacitor voltage that the average value of the voltage applied to the choke 6 becomes zero is generated in the capacitor 3. Thus, high power factor can be obtained irrespective of the load of the power source circuit. |
