The unit is intended for improving draught of a chimney flue (9). It comprises at least one deflector (1) arranged above the upper end of the flue duct and provided with a central opening (2) and a downwardly inclined annular upper surface (3) extending outward from this opening. - A cap (4) arranged at a distance above the opening of the uppermost deflector prevents entry of rain and down draught (8). An aerodynamically shaped upper surface (5) approx. coinciding with the imagined continuation of the surface such that the air flow (6) acting on that surface is directed over the outer surface (5) of the cap.
