<p>An air intake is connected to the space between the perforated plate or grid and the bottom of the composting box, and a toilet is connected to the box via a pipe which issues centrally in the upper part of the box, in this pipe is connected a pump for intermittent movement of faecal matter into the box. A suction unit aspirates fluid collected in the bottom of the air space, and comprises at least one pipe extending from the box bottom up to the level of the perforated plate, and is filled with compost material. Adjacent to the box bottom, the suction pipe has apertures. The end part of the pipe connecting the toilet to the compost box is pivotable for feed of faecal matter to either of the two box chambers.</p> |
