Process for the preparation of delta- and epsilon-damascones

delta - and epsilon -Damascones, products which are useful in perfumery, are prepared by a process which consists in an anionic cleavage using a strong base of a diallyl alcohol of formula <IMAGE> in which the dashes in positions 3 or 4 of the ring are used to denote an additional bond, followed by isomerisation of the end double bond of the resulting product using an acidic isomerising agent.
