PURPOSE:To reduce the pulsation sound of discharged gas by forming a cup- shaped sound arrester installed onto a rotary compressor for coolant by superposing a plurality of steel plates and setting a rubber layer between said steel plates, thus reducing the transmissivity for sound. CONSTITUTION:Two thin steel plates 16 and 17 are contraction-worked into cup form and press-fixed through unvulcanized rubber having a viscous property between the both cup-shaped plates 16 and 17, and a uniform rubber layer 18 is formed. Then, vulcanization is executed by a continuous vulcanization machine to form the rubber layer 18 having an elastic property, and the excessive rubber swelling-out to the edge parts of the both steel plates 16 and 17 is removed and edge surface treatment is applied, and a sound arrester 14 is formed. The cup- shaped sound arrester 14 is installed onto the side surface arranged in the vertical direction of the cylinder of a rotary compressor for coolant. Thus, the pulsation sound which passes through the rubber layer 18 is absorbed, and sound is reduced. |
