Fuel-element bundle for a nuclear reactor, containing a plurality of fuel rods (11) which are composed of fuel bodies with fertile material and fissionable material and of a circular-cylindrical fuel envelope, the said fuel-element bundle being arranged next to a control-rod position. According to the invention, the fuel-element bundle contains a plurality of fuel rods (11a-11l) which are located next to the control-rod position and which contain a smaller quantity of fertile material than the remaining or virtually all the remaining fuel rods of the fuel-element bundle and the outside diameter of which is equal to that of all the remaining or equal to that of virtually all the remaining fuel rods of the fuel-element bundle. As a result of the construction of the fuel rods according to the invention, a considerable lengthening of a reactor cycle, that is to say of the time between two necessary shutdowns for renewing the fuel, can be achieved. <IMAGE> |
