1,209,628. Yarn traversing mechanisms. LEESONA CORP. 8 Nov., 1967 [13 Dec., 1966], No. 50914/67. Heading D1J. The fiexible spans 34, 38 move yarn traversing fingers 40 in opposite directions to traverse yarn onto a drum driven package P, the spans 34, 38 passing around guide means 28, 30 and 28a, 30a the axes 27, 29 of which are located within the confines of the package P. This arrangement ensures that the flexible spans 34, 38 are in engagement with the guide means 28, 30 and 28a, 30a as the yarn is transferred from one finger 40 to another. Each span advances yarn from a yarn engaging :position relatively near to the package to a yarn disengaging position relatively distant from the package. A slotted guide member 50 keeps the traverse path of the yam parallel to the package P, and each finger 40 comprises a slot separating first and second yarn engaging fingers, the trailing finger being longer than the leading finger. |
