The invention relates to a desk system for assembly without particular tools or know-how. It is lightweight and on the top has convenient arrangements for receiving desk accessories. It comprises: a top having, underneath, ramps intended to receive the notches of the pedestals; a key which is housed in the openings permitting the locking of the pedestals; a split key, placed in the orifice, blocks any movement of the top; finally, a series of drawers slide on superposed rails fitted into the openings. Amongst the more advantageous uses may be mentioned the small household desk, desks for small businesses which are starting up, and desks for a modern and futuristic environment with a wide choice of colours or marrying of colours. <IMAGE>
