The invention relates to a wheel support to be mounted in pairs on all rucksacks equipped with a tubular framework, known as "rack" rucksacks, which extends upwards or is curved into a cradle at the base. This equipment, of negligible weight, wheels included, relative to the service rendered, makes it possible to carry only a very small part of the load wherever the terrain is not too uneven. Moreover, it varies the muscular effort. It does not prevent the rucksack being carried in those places unsuited to wheeling. It consists of a tubular body closed at the base by a plug made from plastic. A wheel-carrier axle, perpendicular to the axis of the tube, is fixed into the plug. The upper part, plugged with a piece made from plastic which is axially internally threaded, receives a collar sleeve made from the same material, fixed by a screw. This sleeve penetrates into the framework of the rucksack, in which it is held axially and in rotation by the shoulder-strap pin. For cradle racks, the sleeve penetrates into an adaptor consisting of two narrow notched tubes, assembled as a right angle and whose fixing on the cradle is provided by two collars. A cam brake enables the rucksack to be held against a support which is vertical with respect to the ground. This support, according to the invention, can be used particularly by hikers, travellers, scouts, campers and those who enjoy walking expeditions. <IMAGE>
