The invention relates to thermal processing machines. The machine is one in which the article or product to be heated to a high temperature is passed into a chamber 4 which is filled with the vapour of a primary liquid produced in a boiler and insulated from the atmosphere by a mass 6 of vapour of a secondary liquid having a lower boiling point than that of the primary liquid. The secondary liquid is introduced into the machine separately from the primary liquid through an atomiser 23 working under pressure. The primary vapour is condensed by a coil 5 in which a preheated liquid is flowing at a temperature higher than the boiling point of the secondary liquid.
