PURPOSE:To hold picture quality constant and prolong the life of a photoconductive surface by providing a pressure plate for holding development pressure constant, and forming an escape part in the pressure plate and preventing the development pressure from increasing locally. CONSTITUTION:A belt 11 as a photosensitive moving member is flexible and has a photoconductive surface 11a where an electrostatic latent image is formed in an exposure process. The pressure plate 14 is provided at the opposite side of the belt 11 to developing sleeves 12 and the pressing force (development pressure) and development gap between the photoconductive surface 11a of the belt 11 and developing sleeves 12 are held constant. The recessed part 14a (escape part) whose section is nearly triangular is formed on the surface of the belt 11 opposite to the pressure plate 14 and closest to the outer circumferential surfaces of the developing sleeves 12. Consequently, the development pressure is prevented from increasing locally. |
