PURPOSE:To dehydrate water-granulated blast furnace slag and to utilize collected dust as a secondary starting material for a converter by mixing the dust contg. CaO powder with the slag and by forcing the mixture to be agitated. CONSTITUTION:The amount of collected dust as a secondary starting material for a converter corresponding to the water content of water-granulated blast furnace slag is calculated, and they are blended and forced to be agitated. The dehydration of the slag is completed in several min, and a uniform product is obtd. The dust is effectively utilized, and the amounts of fertilizing components such as magnesia and iron oxide as well as a fertilizer component in the slag as a principal starting material of calcium silicate fertilizer, that is, a Ca component can be increased. Powder of the resulting calcium silicate fertilizer can be granulated with only water to form granules having moderate hardness without requiring a conventional binder such as molasses. |
