PURPOSE:To obtain an article having high wear and scratch resistances and fine appearance by filling a coloring agent into pores formed in the surface of stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:Stainless steel is plated with a metal such as Al by hot dipping, and it is heat treated in gaseous Ar to diffuse Al into the steel. The diffused Al is then leached from the steel with an aqueous NaOH soln. Pores remain in the surface of the steel after the leaching. A coloring agent such as carbon black, an org. dye or varnish is sealed in the pores. |
