The invention relates to a device for recording information on a film situated in a photographic camera. The device comprises light sources which are disposed along a linear strip, and elements, connected to the light sources, to activate the light sources in such an order and sequence that the film which is moved along is optically exposed, in the course of its advance, by the light sources with an information symbol which comprises for example points or dashes.
