PURPOSE:To form a developed image which is very excellent in its gradation property by shifting one of magnets in a developing roll by some angle alpha from a position in which a photosensitive drum and the developing roll stand the closest to each other, and placing it in the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:One of plural magnetic poles of a static permanent magnet 10 in a developing device 6 is placed by shifting it by some angle alpha to the upstream side, seeing in the rotating direction of a holding member 8, against a position P in which an electrostatic latent image holding member 2 and the developer holding member 8 stand the closest to each other. According to such an arrangement, a layer of a developer, whose texture is excellent is formed on the surface of the holding member 8, a developed image which is very excellent in its gradation property can be formed. |
