A displaceable window pane for a vehicle is constructed at its edges, which are guided in U-shaped guide rails, so as to have a tapering cross-section and the gap between the legs of the guide rails in the region of their tapering edges is correspondingly constructed so that, in its closed position, the window pane rests against the legs and is secured, whereas it is guided out of the closed position into its open position merely by the corners at its lower edge and is thus easy to displace.
