<p>Compns. contg. the tile cpd. (I) and its alkaline salts are used in the treatment of cases of sodium retention, e.g. oedemas, hypertension, etc. (I) is prepd. by known methods form anthranilic acid (II) and 2-thiocarboxamido furan (III) or 2-furoic acid ethyl imino ether. In an example 13.7 g. (II) and 12.7 g. (III) were heated together at 150-160 degrees C for 2 hrs., cooled, and recrystallised to give a 70% yield of (I), m.pt. 220 degrees C.</p> |
