The previously known attachment of a dérailleur mechanism is performed with a clip which blocks the entire fork exit end and thus does not permit the running wheel or the chain to be regulated. In addition, attachment to fork exit ends which are open towards the rear is not possible with this clip. With the lever which is attached to the hub axis and like a brake lever with a binding to the fork blade it is possible to use the entire fork exit end for regulating purposes. In addition, with this lever it is possible to attach a dérailleur/tensioning mechanism to any known fork exit end. The gear-shift mechanism attached under the attachment of the axle always maintains the same distance from the hub gearwheels despite the lever displacement. This lever is a great advantage in particular for the combination of the two cycle gear-shifts of hub gear-shift with reverse-pedalling brake and a dérailleur gear-shift (for example specialist publication "Radmarkt" (Wheel Market) 11/82, page 43, Bielefelder Verlagsanstalt) because the chain is subsequently adjusted and thus the dead travel of the tread crank can be kept small, which means less risk of accidents. However, with this type of attachment, even cyclists who have a cycle with rearwardly open exit ends can still have a dérailleur gear-shift or the gear-shift combination mentioned above.
