PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking of a cast iron member due to graphite and to improve the oxidation resistance by degraphitizing the surface part of the member and diffusing Al into the surface part. CONSTITUTION:The surface part of a cast iron member is degraphitized by anodic oxidation or other method. The degraphitized surface part is coated with Al, and it is heated to diffuse Al into the surface part. By this method, the cracking of the surface of the cast iron member due to graphite is prevented, and the oxidation resistance is improved. |
