Rotating wire shear

The invention relates to a rotating wire shear in rolling mills with final rolling speeds of over 50 m/s for cropping the beginning and end of the stock. The shear is characterised in that a pneumatically actuated swivelling tube is arranged on the wire entry side, followed by a rotating pair of cutter heads for the cropping cut and, on the wire exit side, a delivery part provided with two wire guide channels. The aim and object of the invention is to avoid possible interference caused by the cropping cut in the case of rapidly moving rolling stock and to guide the rolled wire in a manner which reliably prevents break-outs by appropriate design of the swivelling tube, the cutter heads and the delivery part. According to the invention, the object is achieved by the fact that the swivelling tube (4) is arranged to run continuously as far as the delivery part (11) and is relieved in the flight path of the cutter heads in a manner corresponding to the cylindrical shape of the latter. <IMAGE>
