Process for the preparation of a rubber product

The process contains the following steps: application of a rubber primer to the surface of a rubber base, curing of the primer, application of a curable polyurethane paint to the surface of the primer and curing of the paint at elevated temperature. The primer contains a polyurethane-curing catalyst. The catalyst is selected from amines and metal salts and is used in an amount of from 0.01 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the primer, or from 0.2 to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the solids content of the primer, excluding any solvent.
