A flow indicator instrument with a housing (31, 32) which can be inserted into a fluid-bearing line and has a monitorable flow chamber, is described wherein at least a part of the wall defining the flow chamber is formed by at least one transparent wall element (36). A wiping element (43) bears against the inner surface of the transparent wall element (36).
