PURPOSE:To ensure operation of a valve while the valve is set to ''operate'', in an equipment in which ''operation''/''non-operation'' of the valve is switched by a check valve after forming the fulcrum of a rocker arm by means of a hydraulic lifter, by moving backward the lifter as a whole when the valve is not to operate, thereby preventing sucking of air into an oil chamber. CONSTITUTION:In a supporting member 13 that forms the fulcrum of a rocker arm, an intermediate member 22 is provided in a slidable manner in the same direction as the sliding direction of the supporting member 13 so that the first oil chamber 31 and the second oil chamber 27, whose volumes are variable, are formed in this intermediate chamber 22. When a valve is operating, oil pressure is introduced into the first oil chamber 31 via a check valve 34, and oil pressure in the second oil chamber 27 is released through a relief gap 47. When the valve is not operating, the check valve 34 is opened in order to release the oil pressure in the first oil chamber 31 and supply oil pressure to the second oil chamber 27. With this, the intermediate member 22 moves backward without causing a pumping action, and air is prevented from being sucked into the oil chamber. |
