PURPOSE:To make the required extent of a range polishable without fail instead of producing any tool positional slip there, by installing a vertical directional position detecting mechanism, while setting up an allowable moving range in vertical directions in a mechanical manner, in regard to a method of copy polishing in a metal mold or the like in vertical directions. CONSTITUTION:In regard to a Z-axis (vertical direction), a dog 17 and a limit switch 18 both for Z-axis use are installed whereby both allowable upper and lower limits in a Z direction in time of copy polishing in the Z direction are regulated. In case of taking account of polishing like this, fundamentally a Y pick feed system is adopted but with feed in an X direction, the feed range is not detected by the dog for X-axis use but on the metal mold surface, that is, the Z coordinate value required for operation is detected and controlled by the dog 17 and the limit switch 18 both for Z-axis use. Therefore, a tool position on a polishing surface is regulated, while copy polishing on the surface side is attainable with constant grinding force and there is no fear of leaving an unpolished part behind in the polishing surface inside and of producing tool interference there. |
