PURPOSE:To perform a mutual communication between both local networks by providing access control parts individually, connecting a converting device which performs memory and address conversion, etc., to a common bus, and providing a processor which controls the whole in common. CONSTITUTION:An LAN access device 103 is connected between area networks LAN101 and LAN102. Then, the device 103 consists of a photoelectric converting device 20, token control part 202, internal bus 203, processor 204, CSMA/CD control part 205, and memory converting circuit 206. The LAN101 and LAN102 are connected together through this bus 203 and necessary control is performed. Namely, address conversion, high-order level control of the control part 205, control over the whole by the device 204, data transmission and reception between both LANs through the circuit 206, etc., are performed. |
