PURPOSE:To prevent more than a set quantity of spark erosion machining from being performed, by applying emergency stop instructions to immediately stop the spark erosion machining of a workpiece when the detected displacement of an electrode has exceeded a set value. CONSTITUTION:A spark erosion machining power supply unit 10 is connected to a spark erosion machining electrode 12 and a workpiece 14. When the moved positions of an X-Y table in directions X, Y have reached machining limits, limit signals 102, 104 are supplied from dial gauges 48, 54 to an emergency stop instruction generating circuit 58. When at least one of the limit signals 102, 104 is applied to the circuit 58, emergency stop instructions 106, 108 are simultaneously sent from the circuit 58 to the power supply unit 10 and an electrode mover 20 to immediately stop their operations. The emergency stoppage of spark erosion machining is thus effected to prevent more than a set quantity of the spark erosion machining from being performed. |
