Components are provided for conducting gas-form carbohydrate fuel to and from the storage unit of the vehicle, and for controlling the flow of fuel from the storage unit to the primary drive. The vehicle storage unit (10) can comprise one or more containers or cylinders contg. an absorption material to reduce the pressure at which the fuel is stored. The primary drive, e.g. an I.C. engine, has components to mix the fuel with air to produce mechanical energy required to drive thevehicle. The max. pressure at which the fuel is stored in the vehicle storage unit is approx. 0.07 x 10 to the power of 6 Pa - 0.28 x 10 to the power of 6 Pa. The fuel feed to the vehicle engine is by means of one or more gas compressors which compress the fuel to a predetermined pressure of approx. 0.28 x 10 to the power of 6 Pa. Also included is a unit for cooling the compressed fuel to at least room temp. |
