CYLINDRICAL ALKALINE BATTERY

摘要

PURPOSE:To increase the internal volume of a cylindrical alkaline battery so as to increase its capacity, increase the liquid leakage resistance of the battery and excellently improve the safety of the battery by providing an inwardly projecting annular groove near the opening of a metallic case also serving as a positive terminal and placing the periphery of a sealing plate on said annular groove to seal the battery. CONSTITUTION:A metallic positive case 5 has an annular groove 12 on which the periphery of a synthetic resin gasket 3 is placed. A negative current collector 2 penetrates the thick central area of the gasket 3. A sealing plate consists of an inner sealing plate 1 and an outer protection sealing plate 13. The inner sealing plate 1 has a gas hole 1a in its peripheral area 1d which is lower than the central area fused to the outer protection sealing plate 13 by spot welding. Because of the above constitution, during a sudden generation of gas, the explosion-proof structure works and the thin area 3b of the gasket 3 is broken by the pointed end 6a of a breaking member 3b to cause the gas to scatter from the circumference area of the outer sealing plate 13 after passing through the gas hole 1a and a hygroscopic impregnation member 14, thereby securing the safety of the battery.
